Paint protection film (PPF) is a thick, optically clear urethane layer applied over your paint — or your wrap — that physically absorbs the stone chips, sand, road debris and scratches that would otherwise reach the finish. Modern films are self-healing: light swirls and wash marks flow back out with heat from the sun or warm water.
It goes where the damage happens. A daily driver takes its worst hits across the front end, so most builds start there — bumper, hood, fenders, mirrors — and scale up to full-body coverage where nothing is left exposed. On gloss paint quality film is virtually invisible; matte and color-change films add the same protection while changing the finish.
Mekina Studios treats film as precision work. The surface is decontaminated and inspected first — film preserves whatever is underneath it, so it has to be right — then computer-cut patterns are installed panel by panel with edges wrapped where the panel allows. No printed shortcuts on visible lines.
