Modern cars — BMW and MINI especially — ship with far more capability than the factory turns on. Coding is the software configuration that enables dormant comfort, lighting and display features already built into your vehicle's modules, tailoring how the car behaves to how you actually drive it.
This is careful, brand-specific work, not a generic tune. We read and back up your vehicle's coding before changing anything, adjust only the parameters you've asked for, and keep clear of anything safety-related. Every change we make can be reverted to the exact factory state from that backup.
Coding is about configuration, not power — it changes what the car does, not how much power it makes. For hardware and drivetrain work, that's a separate conversation — our performance upgrades service — and we'll always be straight with you about which one you actually want.

Longevity & care
Coding stays in place unless it's overwritten — most owners set it once and forget it. The main thing to know is that a manufacturer software update at a dealer can reset coding to factory; if that happens, we can reapply your configuration from the backup we keep.
