Tint is the fastest comfort upgrade a car can get, and the difference between a factory-look install and a regretted one is entirely in film quality and fitment. Two decisions matter: the film, and the shade.
Ceramic versus dyed film
Ceramic rejects far more infrared heat, doesn't interfere with GPS or phone signal, and holds its colour. Dyed film is cheaper up front and shows it within a few summers — it is the film that turns purple, and we don't install it. Ceramic film blocks up to 99% of UV, which is what fades interiors and damages skin.
Picking a shade
Light shades give subtle depth with maximum visibility and are often windshield-legal in clear variants. Medium is the factory-plus look: a clear privacy gain with easy night visibility. Dark gives strong privacy and presence. Limo is maximum privacy for rear glass where regulations allow. Shade choice matters at night: medium shades keep night driving comfortable; very dark front glass doesn't. We show shades on real glass, not just a chart.
What's legal in Maryland
Maryland regulates light transmission by window position, and the rules differ for sedans versus SUVs and trucks. We install to the darkest level that stays road-legal for your glass, and we'll tell you exactly what's compliant for your vehicle during consultation. We don't publish the percentages here because they are set by the state, not by us, and a number on a web page can go stale.
Windshield, sunroof and old film
Clear and light heat-rejecting films exist for the glass that takes the most sun — windshields, sunroofs and panoramic roofs. If the car arrives already tinted, removal and adhesive cleanup is routine, and worth doing properly so the new film sits perfectly.
After the install
Leave the windows up for the advised cure period. Light haze during cure is normal and clears on its own over days. Clean with an ammonia-free glass cleaner and a soft cloth. Our ceramic films carry a lifetime manufacturer warranty against fading, bubbling and peeling for as long as you own the car, unless the damage is user-caused; anything that traces back to installation is on us.
